This exhibition is an introduction to the human being, from the beginning of materiality, to the study of the soul. Yandy Graffer reinterprets different philosophical and cultural codes through the use of pop art and Japanese culture which are all inspirations for the realization of his creations.
A true immersion in the mystical world of the artist, Le sentiment de l’essentiel (The feeling of the essential) plunges you into the bowels of life. Between material body and spirituality, Yandy offers us an initiatory journey in the heart of what he has of more precious: his intimacy, his thought, his hope.
Enter, and face a first divinity. She is the day, the light. She is what we have of divine in us: our soul.
“A river came out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it divided into four.”
Doesn’t this resonate with what you see? Four rivers, four walls, four elements, four energies: Fire, Water, Air and Earth. Linked to the divine, they are nevertheless the basis of the human being, they make him material.
As a thinking being, the human being is free to remain in his materiality, or he can seek to “rise” spiritually. This path is, according to the beliefs, guided by spiritual beings, which are here reduced to their purest state: spheres. They open the doors to the cosmos, to the immensity of the spiritual. Dark and intimate, this space will invite you to introspection, to meditation.
This philosophical dive in the heart of the human being and of what it has of purest, is an invitation to the reflection on the essence of our life.
